ASSEMBLIES OF GOD
OCTOBER 2024 UPDATE
Aloha Calvary ‘Ohana,
Praise God for a new season with great momentum in 2024. We are so grateful to be going into
our second year here in our new home [country] of Timor-Leste and have grown so much as a
family and in ministry. Here are some updates...
Lautem district, Luro sub-district, TL
● continued church growth in 2 sub-villages (Ailafa & Afabubo)
● several committed members as well as 10 people baptized in 2024
● weekly Sunday services and Sunday school in both villages
● weekly Bible studies in 7 homes
● completed church building and kitchen area
● we opened a new preschool with about 30 students and 7 volunteer teachers
Dili (city) district, TL
● Established House of Elisha {boys hostel/discipleship home} for almost a year now
with 10 boys (students in high school & university). Anticipating an additional 10 boys
in 2025. Besides their studies, boys are exposed to ministry and are required to be
involved in serving in their local churches. They also have daily morning group
devotions and nightly prayer time.
● Thursday family nights is a mid-week service we started earlier this year where the
hostel boys are involved in running a small church service from beginning to end. This
also serves as an outreach service where the boys are encouraged to invite their
friends, family and neighbors. We have a steady 20-30 youth and youth adults that
attend on a regular basis.
Lastly, we are blessed to have a team of 4 young men who are committing themselves to help
us in full-time ministry. Please pray for wisdom and guidance in raising these future leader
as well as continuing the village preschool. Requesting prayers as well for our leadership
training school we will be starting in 2025. Thank you so much for your continued support as
together we bring in the harvest.
“'And he said to them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the
Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.'” Luke 10:2
